PMDG-As Real As It Gets! video

I wanted to share this with everyone. Sometimes we have lots of problems trying to get this hobby of ours to work right. We spend many hours fixing and tweaking, not to mention learning. When it all comes together, it's something of pure joy and beauty. A real sense of achivement. I have a new video that I've posted on Youtube. It's kind of been something I've wanted to produce for a while but just never got to. Over the March break I was able to work on it. I wanted to use the equipment at work to produce a short video of me flying the PMDG 747 with flight sim. Oh and the reason for the widescreen look is, that is what I see when I'm flying. I have 2 22 inch monitors with the screen going across both. For all you 2d screen flyers, this is why I fly in VC all the time.

I Hope you enjoy it. I had to break it down to two parts as Youtube does not allow video's over 10min. The whole thing is 10 min 37 sec and 6 frames.

KSAT-KASE

I'm on a new flight today. It's my first flight with a new VA, ExecAir Virtual. It' all about flying Corporate Jets and Charter Planes to anywhere. For my first flight I decided to take the Citation X out for a spin to Aspen (KASE). I think this is one of my favorite places to fly to when I can choose the destination.

This won't be a very long flight, but flying into Aspen is always a challenge. The last time I was here, I had my best approaches ever. Let's hope I can do it again. I am finding flying this bird a bit of a challenge, it's been a bit, so I'm looking at the manual on this flight. It's always weird going from a 744 to a small jet. You feel so low to the ground.

CYYC-CYYZ

Just taking advantage of a snow day! This is my second flight into CYYZ today with the weather. Makes for great landings.
My first flight was in the PSS757-200F. For some reason I lost Auto Throttle on decent around 30 nm out and about 8000 feet up. I had to hand fly STAR in. Made for a very scary landing. I had to Autoland for it, but I got it down on the rwy. I didn't see the runway until around 400feet.

Well, it's been a while since I've been blogging. I decided to do a short flight for Westjet today. I've been watching the Westjet video on my laptop at work lately. Too bad work has been so busy, I haven't been able to fly for a while. I never did get a chance to finish the coast to coast tour yet. Maybe soon I will finish that.

CYWG - CYYZ - LEG 5

With Christmas Vacation over, it's pretty much back to the grind at work. This of course has been cutting into my flying hours. Today, I have a chance to continue on my journey across Canada. I've been sitting on the tarmac in Winnipeg for a while not, so it's nice to finally fire up this bird.

This leg is one of the longer ones, It's 824nm to Toronto. I will be pushing the limits of fuel on this one, but not as bad as my last leg. I think for the last leg which is around 1200nm I'm going to have to plan a fuel stop somewhere.

APU is fired up so it's time to do all my preflight so I can get off the ground!

CYZF-CYEG - Leg 3

I've just departed on the third leg of my journey. This one will bring me to Edmonton (CYEG). Maybe while I'm there I'll get a little shopping in at the West Edmonton Mall. lol. This is another short leg as it's only 624nm, so about 2 hours total.

The weather leaving Yellowknife was miserable again. Rain...

CYXY-CYZF - Leg 2

I'm starting leg two now, I just fired everything up and the external APU is running. I have to work on my flight plan and then get air born.

For leg 2 it's 634nm, which should be too long today at all. If I'm up for it I might even do the Third leg today. Once I get airborne i will update.
